The Green Bar has been open twenty four hours a day, every day since 1968 and has never closed. The bartender is enclosed in a huge iron cage. To obtain a drink, one hands 18 KSh through the grill and receives one warm, 500ml bottle of Tusker Beer. (If you want a cold one ask for a 'Tusker baridi').

The bar is full of long tables packed with drunken Kenyans and prostitutes. Not the sort of place for the faint hearted. A true sleazy bar and the people are friendly. In the back of the bar they also serve food but I never had the guts to try it out. The last time I was there was 1994, so if someone knows if it's still there let us know !
