Paule's Metal Eck
From the outside this heavy metal bar kind of looks intimidating. I opened the door ready to meet some real hard rockers, and some loud music. Little of that really. This crowd is mixed, consisting of a lot of foreignors. In between, I encountered some local rockers and some alternative punkers. The interior is dark, some weird sculptures on the walls, a pool table, and a table for the regulars. Read more »

Genevieve
Queen of sleazy bars
Let me say this about that.
Part of what makes a great sleazy bar is the cross-cultural, mixed bag, mongrel ethnicity of it’s patrons. It is, at the same time, the best and worst examples of the human species. If it is true that the patrons of “Genevieve’s Bar” in Singapore were made in God’s own image, then judgement day is going to be a really interesting affair. Read more »
The Compleat Angler
Bimini’s second sleaziest bar
Let me say this about that.
With apologies to Humphrey Bogart “Of all the bars in all the world …… ” give me the sleazy ones (that last part was mine). Sleazy bars are home to a rare breed of animal that is comfortable with who they are, have no desire to change their station in life, good or bad, and are some of the most real people God ever put on this good earth. Sitting on adjacent bar stools in these establishments are millionaires, crooks, bums, homeless, movie stars, fishermen, politicians, and all manner of folk famous and infamous. But in a great sleazy bar, you can’t tell one from another. Such a place was The Compleat Angler located on Bimini Island in the Bahamas. Read more »

The Dew Drop Lounge
One of the worst places to go on weekends always a fight and you seldom get get your change back from whoever's behind the bar since they often have their freinds working with them that's if it's not swiped by the trash that floats in and their regulars.
Other than that it's a sleazebags paradise drunk chicks both behind and in front of the bar drug use at times fights and ripoffs and if the local women expecialy the ones behind the bar like you anyother gal that so much as even sits next to you will be ran out.
And don't be surprised if you pay $25.00 or more for a $2.75 drink or a $1.00 draft becuase that usualy means you were just volunteered to buy their buddies a drink and are just asking for a thumpin. Read more »
Barfly
The offhandedly scruffy facade is covered with posters of upcoming appearances. The clientele consists of all ages, from teens to 75 years old, A good amount of regular to be found at any time of day or night. They crowd around the small but free pool table in front and spill out onto the sidewalk. Beer and shooters (Jamesons and Jaegermeister) are the mood-elevator of choice; music is unpredictable. Live music almost every night, sets are mostly starting at around 11PM. Toilets are cleaner now than they used to be, but still....
Montreal rated the bar "Best Sleaze Dive" in 2006:

Grassroots Tavern
What a dump this glorious hellhole is.
From the decaying bathrooms to the thousands of names scratched into the wooden walls and tables, Grassroots is truly sleazy.
I almost cried when they put in new speakers, and a more modern jukebox.
Alas, it is still disgusting, and I will always cherish it when I am there.
Le Carafon
I've been here a few times after going out in Tivoli. It's a place you can never remember going to and maybe it's better that way. It strangely crowded at 5 o'clock in the morning with all diehard drinkers....And that's all there is to it. They still have drinks even when the rest is closed.
The Crow Bar
This is where "everyone thinks they know your name"! If you're not in the mood to be approached by drunk rednecks, don't go there!
Can be fun when someone you have never seen in your life, comes up to you and puts their arm around you saying, "Hi buddy...how's it going?"....and you're wondering if maybe you were too drunk to remember who this person is????
The bathroom has a sign: please hold handle down for 10 seconds!....If you don't do this, you better run!
Karaoke night is fun....most people who can't sing will try and think that they sound like a pop star. Sometimes you have to leave because it sounds so bad.
There are some good pool shooters here...just leave your weapon at the bar. Read more »
The Board of Trade
This place was established during the gold rush and in the 70's & 80's the bathrooms looked (& smelled) like they could have been the originals.
In the late 1970's the bars in Nome stayed open 24/7 and the BOT almost always had a few overly refreshed patrons sleeping at the tables in the front of the saloon.
The house band in those days (I think they were "The BOT Band") had the worst sound system, etc which was all moot because the only thing the patrons needed was the back beat for scootin' around on the floor. Read more »
Top Hat Lounge
The Top Hat is probably Loveland's oldest sleazy bar. The patrons got me totally wrecked in 83 on my 21st birthday by feeding me various schnappes shots, most notably root beer. Unfortunately someone had turned out the lights and I puked almost everywhere but in the toilet. The decor is mostly dark paneling and red vinyl circa 1950. They have added a stage and dance floor in the back but it is sooo dark you can barely see your drink. The 4 red lights on the wall that barely give any illumination really add to the atmosphere. The barmaid/waitress are definately nearing retirement age and will serve you when they're damn good and ready, unless you're a regular.
