Nightclub Papillon
The exact address I am not sure about, it is one of the small side streets starting from "calle Assaonadors", very near "Calle Princesa". Just ask any "night-type" person you see walking around in that neighbourhood, and he or she will know. The club can only be recognized from the outside by its grey door on which you have to knock and then wait until they let you in. Read more »
Birrabeds
A "Birra Bed" means Beer House in Amharic and there are plenty in Piazza, Addis. Just ask someone on the street and they will bring you there. The most birrabeds stay open till the last customer leaves or open up if the first arrives (just bang the door). Beer and local spirits are cheap and service always with a smile.
San Francisco
If everything is closed and you're a little desperate you can go to San Francisco at the famous Zeedijk (red light district).
It's a bar/dancing, the beers are too small and too expensive, the "broodje bal" is good, the atmosphere is often not very friendly, especially if you bring your girlfriend.
They close late, though.
Le Carafon
I've been here a few times after going out in Tivoli. It's a place you can never remember going to and maybe it's better that way. It strangely crowded at 5 o'clock in the morning with all diehard drinkers....And that's all there is to it. They still have drinks even when the rest is closed.
Land van Belofte
A place packed with pimps, drunks, hookers and their clientelle. Located in a small red light district on the edge of the town center. Just a few meters down from the Benzinebar. Open daily till late!
Pipa Club
To enter, one has to ring the doorbell and walk up to the first floor. It's not very sleazy, but it's open till late. Of course, the later you'll arrive, the more you feel at home. The clientele is a mixture of tourists and catalans, the drinks are relatively expensive, and there used to be a waitress with long legs, leather boots, a short skirt and a skimpy shirt, but I haven't seen her the last few times I was there.
But it's open untill quite late, or did I mention that already?

Snake-n-Jakes Christmas Club Lounge
An old friend of mine lived across the street from this place and refused to go in.
So when I visited I dragged him in after a Widespread Panic show, LATE NIGHT.
Keep in mind, this place usually does not open until around midnight, and really gets hoppin' around 6-7am. S-n-J's is located in Uptown on Oak off of Carollton.
Most cab drivers don't even know where it is and it is primarily a local's joint. It's a tiny, ramshackle looking place with a very large south pacific man minding the door. Once you enter, it is a low ceiling and candle light only.

Top Hat Lounge
The Top Hat is probably Loveland's oldest sleazy bar. The patrons got me totally wrecked in 83 on my 21st birthday by feeding me various schnappes shots, most notably root beer. Unfortunately someone had turned out the lights and I puked almost everywhere but in the toilet. The decor is mostly dark paneling and red vinyl circa 1950. They have added a stage and dance floor in the back but it is sooo dark you can barely see your drink. The 4 red lights on the wall that barely give any illumination really add to the atmosphere. The barmaid/waitress are definately nearing retirement age and will serve you when they're damn good and ready, unless you're a regular.
Feuermelder
Slightly after 3:00 am i stood in front of the Feuermelder. Attached to the door is a sign stating geoffnet: Ma-Sa ab 15:00, Sontag ab 13:00. Is this a joke? Or is there a thruth to it. Intrigued, i opened the sequential doors and entered. All patrons turned around instantly and stared at me. Determined, i found a place at the bar ready to order. No barman. Read more »
Splash Number 3
This is you typical ice house, with a few extra features!
The place is nasty, unsanitary, no heat or ac, pending on weather conditions, the owner's personality is suitable to and excerpt in a gangster movie and the bar maids sell the cheapest brands of bar liquor and make you think you're getting premium. At least the price tells you this. The glasses are not washed and sterilized according to health rules, and I know that I myself as well as others, have gotten ill from an night out at Splash 3 in the wonderful city of Bacliff Texas. Positive Vibrations
I can't remember the name of the street anymore, I think it might be calle Grau, but anyway it's close to the center.
It's been a few years since I have been there, but at that time it had the following advantages:
- two nice barmen, educated enough to know there's more to life than salsa or dollars, and very openminded.
- a nice clientele, relatively few tourists and quite some locals
- cheap drinks (well, that goes for quite a lot of places in Perú) Read more »

1881 Club
This place is right near my house, and in two and half years I've never had the balls to walk in there. Well I dragged some reinforcements with me and took the plunge today. All I can say is, I'm glad I did. Although there are NO SMOKING signs all over the place, everybody is smoking. There's a back room with a pool table, there's those "pay per game" electronic dartboards that are almost certainly busted, and the old style 12 foot wide satellite dish was pulling in some classic NASCAR action on TNT or TNN or something on a projection tv.
