am to pm
Berlins first club daily 24 houres open!
Placed underneath the S-bahn at Hackescher Markt, this looks like a real dive. It is said that the am to pm is a normal cafe during the day. It changes into a club as the pm progresses and the am begins to dawn. So the am to pm transforms itself two times a day. Read more »
Vrankrijk
Although I would't directly refer to Vrankrijk as sleazy, it is certainly an alternative bar that needs to be recommended on this site.
Vrankrijk is an old squatters place, that exists already for twenty years. Ten years ago the building was legally obtained, and last year they received a true permit for serving alcohol (although they were doing it already for twenty years).
Drinks are very cheap in Vrankrijk. However they don't always stay open late. Atmosphere is very good. On Saturdays you can dance a bit. Besides that there are lots of activities, and benefit nights.
Unfortunately most squatting places have disappeared in Amsterdam. Lets hope Vrankrijk stays!
Update: Unfortunately Vrankrijk was permanently closed in 2009 by the City of Amsterdam.

The Modern Greenbar
The Green Bar has been open twenty four hours a day, every day since 1968 and has never closed. The bartender is enclosed in a huge iron cage. To obtain a drink, one hands 18 KSh through the grill and receives one warm, 500ml bottle of Tusker Beer. (If you want a cold one ask for a 'Tusker baridi'). Read more »
De Diepte
Your nose is equipped for bars, if you find this one. And even than you sometimes have to thump the door to get in. If you do get in, you enter a world deep down below, with walls made of red and flames. Read more »
Magasles
In the south of Hungary is a very small city called Szigetvar and somewhere there you'll maybe find the gypsy bar Magasles.
It is run by a very friendly lady called Eva and if you're lucky a very old gypsy will play the violin - like, all night long. And the nights are long in this place.
Be sure to know enough hungarian to order a beer (Sör), wine ("bor") or the locally brewed palinka (if you like a glass of glue) because it's the only language spoken there.
No dogs allowed (except mine).
De Benzinebar
Open on saturday nights only! By the time you get here, you're too drunk to notice the interior.
If my memory serves me right:it's dark, smelly, cheap and there's a car sticking out of the wall.
Open untill you fall down or black out. Don't come here for a quiet drink, people will try to persuade you to have a one night stand.
